Nano-Nouvelle has made it to the finals of Australia’s most important technology competition. The Competition aims to find great Australian companies and provide them with the support needed to make them successful nationally and internationally.
“The process as a semi-finalist in Round 2 has been an excellent opportunity to review our business plan under new light, and the additional support has been invaluable” remarked Stephanie Moroz, CEO.
The Australian Technologies Competition had over 200 entries this year with entrants from across Australia, including Victoria, NSW, South Australia, Queensland and WA. Now in its fourth year, the Australian Technologies Competition seeks to find, mentor and develop Australia’s best technology companies that have a strong focus on improving efficiency, resource use and competiveness. The Competition has helped many of its past entrants turn good technologies into great businesses and is an initiative of the Department of Industry.
The 2014 entrants have jointly invested $323m in developing their technologies, have secured more than $70m of Government grants and are seeking a further $200m to finalise their commercialisation.
Nano-Nouvelle also recently won the Sunshine Coast Innovation Centre Business Pitch Competition, where a panel of judges were impressed by both the innovation of their technology and their business model. “It’s great to see so many people interested in our technology, and the prize package will be beneficial to our continuing development” commented Stephanie Moroz.
The Australian Technologies Award winner for 2014 will be announced at a gala dinner 16 September. The full list of finalists is available on the Australian Technologies Competition website www.austechcomp.com
